Graduation day was soon approaching and I sent out an email to all my contacts on my yahoo account (guess who was on there, DH!!!). As, he tells me, when he got the email he was so happy and emailed me back. Apologizing and telling why he hadn't emailed me in a while. Time went on, we began to speak over the phone. About 2 months later we met each other at my aunts apartment building. He brought a rose and a poem he had writen for me.

Una flor hermosa para la rosa
Que lleva la llaves de mi corazon

A flower for the rose
That has the keys to my heart

After about a year of endless amounts of dates, dinners, gifts and the most amazing moments, on February 14th, 1999, hubby proposed to me at my house. Of course I was late for church, I left the door unlocked because I knew he was coming. He walked in and I yelled from the bathroom "I'm not ready yet". As my blow dryer going on high, I hear my favorite song "Butterfly Kisses" softly playing in the background. I walk out of the bathroom half dressed hair a mess and there is hubby standing the living room waiting. Flowes in a vase, candies on table and teddy in his arms. Of course I knew what was going on. Teehee! He hands me the bear and goes down on knee and asks me "You know how much you mean to me, and how much I love you, will you marry me?" He was so nervous, lips was quivering and so was his voice. Poor guy! TeeheeAfter church we went out for a celebratory dinner at Tony Romas.

As the months passed on and wedding plans were made our wedding day came closer. By the time I wedding came along I was so exhausted. There were so many last minute details that I had forgotten to send hubby for a haircut and it was too late to do that night. We ended up sleeping on the couch at my aunts house. We were up by 6 am, my aunt gave hubby a hack job of a hair cut, poor guy had nicks on his neck. By 8 am I was at the salon getting my hair crimped and curled. I could barely fit my hair in the car after the guy was done!!! No lie! My aunt applied a simple make-up and we headed over to my mother's house to get dressed. All was going as planned until about 10:30 am, SNAG!! Photograper showed up about an hour late.

The photographer finally arrived, it was worth the wait the pictures came out beautiful. After about 30 minutes we arrived at the church. Groom was way passed nervous at this point. The ceremony started, I marched down the aisle in my big fluffy dress. Hubby was so nervous he didn't even turn around to look at me as I walked up. We said our I do's and partied the afternoon away. The rest is history...

We have celebrated many wondeful anniversaries since then. As I type this story, today, our 6th anniversary winds down. Eddie and I have had many great moments and of course no good relationship goes without its bad moments. I am glad that we have decided to stay together even through adversities. I believe those moments are the defining, character building and ultimately neccessary to become who we are today.

Special Thanks

You are the most important person in my life after God. I thank you for all the wonderful things and extraordinary love that you have shared with me throughout these last 6 years. I know this last year has not been the best but I hope the many more to come will be great. I hope you know and will always know how much this boricua loves you.

Here's to us for many more years and our baby to be.
